Turkey Mountain trails, eight minutes from your campsite
More than 30 miles of singletrack, hiking trail and downhill lines on 750 rugged acres above the Arkansas River, and Click 4 RV Park is three miles from the trailhead, the closest RV park to it we could find on Google Maps in September 2026. This is the local's guide to riding, running and hiking Turkey Mountain, with the Cold Turkey MTB Fest front and center.

How far is Turkey Mountain from Click 4 RV Park?
About three miles. Google routes it at 3.2 miles and 8 minutes to the lower lot: south on Union Avenue, east on 71st Street, north on Elwood. You could pedal it, but 71st Street has no bike lane, so most guests drive over with the bikes on the rack.
ALower lot and Rock Yard, 6851 S Elwood Ave
Union Avenue south about 1.8 miles, left on West 71st Street for a mile, then left on South Elwood. The lot is on your left. This is where Cold Turkey sets up and where the Rock Yard Bike Park and the West Bank river trail connect.
BWest Trailhead, 915 W 61st Street
The newer lot on 61st Street west of Elwood, start line for the Trail Nut 5K. Google puts it at 4.2 miles and 11 minutes with the current construction detours. Quieter on weekends than the main entrance at 67th and Elwood.
Distance and time from Google Maps directions, September 2026. Lubell Park, home of the Snake Run and Tulsa's Backyard Bonanza trail races, is 1.8 miles from the park and is marked on the map too.

MTB Fest 2026
Turkey Mountain lower lot
Three days of enduro, short track, XC, downhill and a chainless race
Cold Turkey is River Parks' own mountain bike festival, and for one November weekend it fills the mountain. Friday is free and loose: a guided enduro pre-ride, a jump clinic, a shakeout ride with Team Soundpony, a cookout and the Friday Night Lights Jump Jam. Saturday is the five-stage Enduro Party and short track, with Specialized demos and skills clinics from Bike Club Tulsa. Sunday is cross country, the Lil' Shredders Kids Cup and a shuttled downhill race. Registration closes at noon on Friday, November 13.
The festival has tent and van camping. It has no RV camping on site - which makes Click 4 RV Park the place bikers go
Cold Turkey sells a limited number of tent spots and 15 van spots next to the start line, all first come and no reservations. Outside the festival, River Parks does not allow overnight camping at Turkey Mountain at all. If you are bringing a trailer, a camper or a motorhome, Click 4 RV Park is a full-hookup RV park 3.2 miles from the lower lot, with water, sewer and 30/50 amp so you can charge lights, run the heater on a 40-degree November night and hose the mud off the rig.

Turkey Mountain trails for riders, runners and hikers
Thirty-some marked trails from a quarter mile to three miles, stacked on a 919-foot hill with the river on one side and the city skyline on the other. Here is how locals sort it out. Trail names and ratings are from the River Parks map and Trailforks.
First laps and family rides
Start from the main entrance at 67th and Elwood, where River Parks put the restrooms, pavilions and climbing boulders. Skyline Jumps and Bomb Cellar are the two areas River Parks names for beginners, and Stay Gold Loop is the mellow three-mile green rated 4.4 on Trailforks.

Flow, roots and rock gardens
Most of the mountain is blue: 34 of the 87 mapped segments. Soda Pop, rated 4.4 on Trailforks, is about a mile of flowing intermediate trail. Link blues together and you can ride for hours without repeating much; the Cold Turkey enduro covers about 14 miles of the mountain with its five stages and transfers.

Rock Yard and the downhill-only lines
The Rock Yard Bike Park, reached from 71st Street, is three acres with six trails dropping 80 to 90 feet through jumps, bridges, wall rides and drops. Bikes only, intermediate to expert, closed when wet. Zingo, the downhill-only trail the chainless race takes its name from, rates a perfect 5.0 on Trailforks. Nine downhill-only trails run seasonally.

Ponds, the summit and the new Sanctuary
Hikers get the same 30-plus miles. Head for Pepsi Pond, the 919-foot summit with the skyline view, or the Sanctuary, 90 acres and six miles of new trail that opened in July 2025 off the upper lot, with a treehouse-style lookout over a pond. River Parks' audio walking tour on Spotify covers the oil history, the naming and the geology as you go. Yield rule: bikes yield to feet, and descenders yield to climbers.

The River Parks connection
The paved West Bank trail runs from 11th Street and Southwest Boulevard south to 71st Street and Turkey Mountain, with marked cycling and pedestrian lanes and lights until the 11 PM curfew. River Parks counts more than 26 miles of asphalt trail across both banks. The grades where the trail climbs into the Turkey Mountain lot are steep; that is not your legs.

Races and rides on and around the mountain
Turkey Mountain hosts one of Tulsa's oldest trail races and its newest bike festival, and west Tulsa's other trail parks are a few minutes from your site. Cards update themselves: upcoming events sit first, past editions dim until the next date posts.
Cold Turkey MTB Fest
Enduro, short track, XC, downhill, kids cup, jump jam and the Zingo Unchained chainless race. River Parks' own festival, fourth year. Registration closes Friday at noon.
Escape from Turkey Mountain

Trail Madness

Saint Francis Tulsa Tough

TATUR trail training group
Tulsa Area Trail & Ultra Runners meet once a week on Tuesday evenings at Turkey Mountain for a trail training run. Newcomers welcome; check their page for the current meeting time and lot.

Dates from each organizer's registration page, checked September 4, 2026. Where a 2026 or 2027 date has not been announced we show the month it usually runs and the last confirmed edition. Trailforks and the Oklahoma Earthbike Fellowship listed no other Turkey Mountain races at the time of writing.

Need a wrench on the mountain?
OpenStreetMap marks a public bicycle repair station on the West Bank trail near the lower lot. Bring your own tube; the mountain has a lot of rock.
Sun & Ski Sports, 6808 S Memorial Dr, turns up in bike-shop searches too; it is a sporting goods store. Sand Springs BMX is a race track, not a shop.
Things Tulsa riders know that visitors learn the hard way
Rain closes the dirt
River Parks closes dirt trails when they are muddy, and the Rock Yard and downhill-only trails close first. Tulsa clay holds water, so a Thursday storm can mean a Saturday closure. Check the trail conditions feed on riverparks.org before you load the bikes, and ride the paved West Bank trail if the dirt is shut.
Descenders yield to climbers
Turkey Mountain is a shared-use park and the rules are posted: cyclists yield to pedestrians, riders going down yield to riders coming up, everybody stays on existing trails and nobody cuts switchbacks. Helmets are strongly encouraged.
Pedal-assist yes, throttle no
Class 1 and Class 2 pedal-assist e-bikes are allowed on the trails, and so are One Wheels. Anything with a motor that is not a bicycle, including e-dirt bikes, Surrons and gas mini-bikes, is prohibited. Cold Turkey has its own E-bike XC class on Sunday if you want to race one.
The park opens at 5 AM
Summer in Tulsa is hot by 10. Locals ride at first light or after work, and the 5 AM to 11 PM hours make both easy. The restrooms are at the main entrance, so fill bottles at the rig. November mornings for Cold Turkey run about 40 degrees; the afternoons hit the low 60s.
Sleep in a bed, not a tent, in November
No overnight camping is allowed at Turkey Mountain outside the festival, and the festival's tent and van spots are first come. Click 4 is 3.2 miles from the lower lot with full hookups, so the heater runs all night and the bikes lock to the rig. The office is open 9 AM to 7 PM daily and a real person answers at 918-446-3199.
Leave it better than you found it
The mountain is protected as urban wilderness under a 50-year master lease the City of Tulsa signed with River Parks in 2017, and volunteers do a lot of the trail work. Pack out what you pack in, keep dogs leashed, skip the glass, and if you are here for Cold Turkey, the volunteer signup is on the festival site.
